WALTER LAURETI
Walter Laureti (1996) began his sound explorations by studying electronic music in Rome (IT) and Kristiansand (NO). After being a pupil of Jan Bang, he started collaborating with nationally and internationally renowned artists at a very young age. Although he has ranged between very different musical genres - from world music to jazz, passing through classical music - he finds in the electronic language the possibility of holding them together. Since 2017, he has started working on 3D and audio productions for the VR/AR, focusing on Ambisonics applications for live performances and sound installations. (Dissertation on Sampling Live in a 3D audio environment). He also collaborated on the construction of the Ambisonics hall at the University of Agder. In 2019, he founded Catalea, a creative studio and art collective artistic collective that aims to mix sounds from traditional Italian culture with modern soundscapes. Since 2021 he has been collaborating with the collective MACULA with which he explores the contamination between contemporary languages. He works on projects related both to contemporary dance and to the repertoires of the Mediterranean tradition, including the project Umana with choreographer Andrea de Siena and the project Canto Ostinato at the Centro National Centre for Dance Production Virgilio Sieni. As a producer, he is part of the European project related to musical traditions 'European Ghosts'.
